Join us for the Fifth Annual Strides for James on May 13, 2017!
Strides for James is a 5k/10k race and 1-mile children’s fun run/walk in memory of James Dean Wilson. All race profits go to the James Wilson Scholarship Fund at Clinton Community College.
James was a kind, loving son, brother, uncle, grandson, and friend. He was always willing to help others; he made people feel happier when he was around. Laughing, smiling, and joking were some of his most notable personality traits. James was a passionate outdoorsman and runner. He ran track in high school and enjoyed running along the Lakeshore Road and challenging himself to do better every time. James had an ability to see the good in people and was always willing to extend a hand to help someone. His generous spirit lives on in the Strides for James event — getting people out and enjoying some exercise, while raising money to support educational scholarships for local students. James would be so proud.
James is an alumnus of Clinton Community College. He truly valued his education from Clinton and had a wonderful experience there. He always mentioned how the teachers and staff there were supportive and wanted him to succeed to his highest potential. He learned so much from the Architectural/ Drafting program at CCC, which prepared him well for his future and his employment at Jeffords Steel.
“The James Wilson Memorial Scholarship is very meaningful to our family. James would be so happy to give the same opportunity he had at Clinton Community College to someone else. It would put a smile on his face to know he was helping so many others. Thank you for the tremendous outpouring of love and support for Strides for James.” — The Wilson family
