About the Scholarship

The Wilson family presents the James Dean Wilson Memorial Scholarship award to Richard Tarabula just before the start of the 2nd Annual Strides for James event in 2014.

The James Dean Wilson Scholarship Fund was created as a way to remember James Wilson, whose life was cut short at age 26 by a tragic motorcycle accident in June 2012. James had an incredibly generous spirit. He was always giving of himself, whether he was teaching a fellow draftsman, helping a friend or providing moral support, James would put aside his own needs to help others.

It is in that same spirit of helping others that the James Dean Wilson Scholarship fund was created at Clinton Community College. Not only to remember, but to honor James by helping others in our community. This scholarship is very meaningful to the Wilson family. James would be so happy to give the same opportunity he had at Clinton Community College to someone else.

To be eligible for the scholarship, students must be enrolled full time as an Industrial Technology major or in a related program and qualify for FAFSA at Clinton Community College. The scholarship is distributed in the spring and fall semesters. The award can be used for books and/or tuition expenses.
